Richard Patton

Army OneSource is pleased to introduce Richard Patton as the Alabama and Mississippi State Community Support Coordinator. Richard Patton joined the Army OneSource team with a well-established network of stakeholders throughout the state of Alabama and Mississippi. Richard is a graduate of Ashford University where he received a Master of Science Degree in Logistics Management. Prior to joining Army OneSource, Richard retired from the Army after serving 32 years as a Senior Non-Commissioned Officer, (Sergeant Major). In the Army, he performed duties as an Army Senior Interrogator, Helicopter Technical Inspector on 5 types of aircraft, and Installation Training and Operations Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge. He did combat tours in the first Gulf War and served two tours in Iraq with the last tour at the Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq. His career has spanned many military duty stations stateside as well as overseas.

Since joining Army OneSource, Richard has developed partnerships with essential military and community stakeholders in order to organize and sustain statewide alliances in the key focus areas of Behavioral Health, Finance, Legal and Faith Based to address the needs of the Mississippi and Alabama Military Service members, Veteran and Family members in their communities. He has partnered with 3500 organizations between Mississippi and Alabama at the state, federal and community level and has provided non direct services to more than 20,000 Service members, veterans and families. Most recently, Richard provided guidance and support to the Mississippi Community Financial Access Coalition (MCFAC)/ Mississippi Financial/ Employment Military Alliance, in the development of the Financial Education Boot Camp Program. The “Financial Education Boot Camp” program is the education component of The MCFAC Financial Capability Program, a collaborative effort between Mississippi Community Financial Access Coalition [MCFAC], Guaranty Bank &Trust Co, FDIC Money Smart, MS State, MS State Extension Service , Head Start Centers, Housing Authorities, Community Action Agencies, Financial Institutions and other community and faith- based organizations.

He serves on the Red Cross Advisory Board in Hattiesburg, Mississippi as the Military advisor.

Served two years as Chairman of the Mississippi Inter-Service Family Assistance Committee (MS-ISFAC), now called the Joining Community Forces Committee.

Serves as the Commissioner of the Mississippi Semi Pro Baseball League .

Serves on the Behavioral Health and Homelessness Committee of the Alabama Governor’s, Alabama Veterans Network (ALaVetNet) committee.
